The total tally will be announced soon by the TFLA event organizers. This event will bring in over $5000 directly to the program to help offset expenses. The following is a list of the Cross Country Ticket sales winners: 1) Ultimate grand prize - iPhone (service not included) – Bruckel, Alexander 2) Most Tickets Sold 1ST Place - $100 - Bruckel, Alexander 2ND Place - $75 – Waythomas, Vincent 3RD Place - $50 – Alex Carfi. 3) For each (1) ticket sold = 1 opportunity drawing for a $100 cash prize Boufford, Matt Prizes will be presented at the XC Banquet Wednesday, October 29 Volunteers Needed Cross Country Banquet will be held on Dec. 2nd, 2008. We need help with decorations and check in.

Student Athletes may go home with their parents after the meet. You MUST see Coach Howard before you leave the park and you may only go home with your Parent or Family members. Tuesday, September 23 Woodbridge Highlights In the Division 1 Girls Varsity Race Los Alamitos placed 2nd in the race with a team time of 1:34:47 – over a minute faster than week #1. Leading the scoring and winning the race was Jillian deAvila (18:07) followed by Katherine Velicki (18:50), April Lembi (19:02), Jessica Brinkman (19:17), Taylor Wood (19:31), Melissa Hastie (19:39) and Jenni Schefski (20:40). The team placed 31st overall in the meet amongst some of the most competitive teams in the state. In the Division 1 Girls Frosh Race Los Alamitos placed 2nd only one point behind first place Serrano with a team time of 1:41:25. Leading the scoring and placing 2nd and 3rd in the race were Emily Woodworth (19:25) and Sheryl Jue (19:29) followed by Ashley Singleton (20:22), Ashley Sarquiz (21:04), Anne Carpenter (21:05) and Elyse Harabedian (21:05). In a race as close as this one the one point difference can equate to less than two seconds or passing just one more runner on the way to the finish. In Cross Country you run as an individual but you succeed as a team. Way to go team!!! Keep up the good work and you will see continued success. On the Boys side top time was William Chenowith (16:34) followed by Nick Rainey (16:45), Bobby Woyjeck (16:50), Michael Fanelli (16:56) all running under the 17:00 minute mark.

Runners of the Week - 9/13/08 Boys Bobby Woyjeck - Running in the Frosh/Soph race, Bobby clocked an outstanding PR @ 16:23. He had the fastest Los AL Boys time of the weekend, finished fourth in the race, and led his team to a fourth place finish. Johnson Lay - A Junior and three-year veteran of the Los Al XC program, Johnson ran an excellent race and set a new PR of 19:44. Girls Jillian de Avila - In her first race of the 2008 season Jillian crushed her 2007 PR of 19:10 and finished the Varsity Race in 2nd position with a phenomenal time of 18:00. Her time helped her team capture a 3rd place victory with a 1:36:09 overall team time. Her 18:00 time places her #3 on the Griffin XC Hall of Fame. Sheryl Jue - Tiny but Mighty. Running in her debut race, Sheryl finished second in the Frosh race with a time of 19:51. Sheryl and the Frosh/Soph girls were able to capture 1st Place with an amazing team score of 19. **training is the opposite of hoping**
